I  believe that when leaders of any organization fail to communicate their  vision, the trust can be destroyed with the employees. Employees are  expected to hear something from corporate management when it deals with  the organization either good or bad. Communication within an  organization is a central part of the culture of the organization. It is  very important for leaders to communicate the vision or mission in a  way that sets out the purpose of change vision that the employees can  clearly understand. Lack of effective communication in the workplace can  create conflict in relationships.

There are some outcomes of a change management plan when it deals with  an under-communicated vision. Make the complex simple, brief and  appealing. Leaders tend to have a change vision that is complex,  long-worded and boring. Next, the change vision requires simplicity and  repetition. This foster understanding and retention of the change. The  change should not be of complex language. Last, the change vision  communication need to be two-way. Active feedback both from managers and  employees should be welcomed.

One strategy for avoiding under-communicating the change might be to  have the leaders become living examples of of the new corporate  vision/culture that the vision aspires to become. One major powerful  message that helps sell the new change is when leaders back up words  with behavior. When employees see leaders acting and doing things  differently, it sends a powerful message through the entire  organization.
