1. COMPARE/CONTRAST ASSIGNMENT: 

a. Students will read one professional journal article (Example: the New England Journal of Medicine, National Association of Social Workers, National Nursing Journals or JAMA etc…) Write a one page outline of content in that article.

b. Read one news article of mass publication (Example: USA Today, the New York Times or the Wall Street Journal etc…) related to a disease or health condition presented in the text. (The topics can be different!) Write a one page outline of the information presented in this article.

c. Students will prepare to discuss the outlines of each article in class. 

d.  Students will write a one page summary comparing and contrasting the types of information found in each article. Example; did both advise you of the size or depth of the study on which they base their conclusions?
