Give three reasons why the State is still an important actor in the global economy.  Be specific.   

Pick a TNC mentioned in the reading and describe the geography of intra-firm operations. (regional headquarters, research and development facilities, production operations).  

Explain how national governments, transnational corporations and labor movements influence the global economy. Which actor do you believe has the most influence?  Explain why. 

Describe two ways labor exerts influence on the economic landscape.  Give one example of a constraint labor faces.  

Define Labor Market Segmentation.  Give an example of how labor market segmentation can support the development of ethnic communities.  Give an example of how gender influences the value associated with an occupation.
