Week 1
My understanding of field education experience,is the being provided with an opportunity to
put the various things that we learn during our various courses into play, as well as the
opportunity learn and grow more with our skills which will allow to become more efficientin
the field
My role as an intern in my field education experience is first make sure that I represent not only
myself with dignity and respect but represent Walden as well. Another role as an intern is to
display an continued willingnessto want to learn and grow in the field. My role as an intern will
be to also facilitate groups, conducts assessments, documentation, as well as other duties outline
in the agreement between myself, Walden, and my placement site.
Week 2
The only potential challenges in adhering to confidentiality in my field experience would be
discussing experiences during class, but I do not see that really a problem because I would
NEVER disclose the individual's real name or any other identifying information.
A description of my agency's policies/mandates with regard to confidentiality is that information
shared by the client is kept private unless their consent is given to share the information, or if the
information falls within the parameter of the limits of confidentiality. All information shared
during the intake process, individual sessions, and group sessions are to be kept confidential
unless the information disclosed refers to the clients want harm his/herself or someone else.
Potential challenges in communicating with clients within my agency could be that my clients
may not be as trusting or willing to engage and interact with me because I'm a intern and not a
fully licensed therapist. My clients within my agency not being as trusting or willing to engage
and interact with me could make it very hard for to build a good rapport with them.
Week 3
I will follow all of the safety rules and guidelines that have been put in place. I will also never
put myself in any situation that makes me feel unsafe or uncomfortable. If I am asked to do
something that makes me feel unsafe or uncomfortable, I will speak out on it to my field
supervisor. If I am ever alone with a client for whatever reason I will always make sure that my
back is NEVER turned to or facing the client and that I am always sitting closest the exit. I will
always be sure to make my safety my number 1 priority.
I dont believe that my personal safety plan would differ from my agency's safety plan, because
the things in my safety plan are common practice.
Week 4
The role of supervision in my field education experience is help to gain more knowledge and
experience in the foundation and basic/foundational practices in social work, as well as gain
more experience with the basic skills/tools of social work.
My field instructor’s leadership style is not that does not uses micro management. My field
supervisor will assign task to me daily and then make his self available in the event I have any
questions or need assistance. I actually work very closely with my field supervisor, which I like a
lot because I will feel working closely with him everyday that I am there will help me to get the
