The author suggests a staregy to clinical and community interventions that integrates

considers how practice with racially and culturally diverse populations can inform
existing psychoanalytic theory Tummala-Narra, (2013).
The articles were taken from Freud's (1910) essay "Wild psycho-analysis." This difficulty in
understanding looseness poses concerns about who determines, in a theory and practice, what
psychoanalysis will look like. I think the problem is particularly important for contemporary
times, as the demography of the United States and elsewhere has undergone drastic changes and
globalization is marked by rapid media and internet exchange of ideas. This dilemma is also
present because, in spite of evidence of the effectiveness of psychoanalytic psychotherapy,
psychoanalysis continues to face challenges to its scientific legitimacy or at least a public
awareness of that legitimacy.

However, the author proposes an approach to clinical and community interventions that

theory. Two case examples, one from psychotherapy and the other from a community

Psychoanalysts have also explored intrapsychic and interpersonal changes in the context of
immigration. Akhtar (1999, 2011) described the many challenges of the mourning process for
immigrants, including regression into earlier stages of development, culture shock and
discontinuity of identity, disorganization, and a third separation individuation process. Various
aspects of immigrant adjustment and identity, such as bilingualism, pre- and postmigration
character, challenges with acculturation, and the role of fantasy about country of origin and
adoptive country, have been described in the psychoanalytic literature (Ainslie, 2009; Akhtar,
2011; Eng & Han, 2000; Foster, 2003; Tummala-Narra, 2009a). Additionally, in recent years,
issues of spirituality (Aron, 2004; Roland, 1996; Tummala-Narra, 2009b), sexual
orientation/identity, and gender identity (Drescher, 2007; Suchet, 2011) have been recognized as
central to individual development. Indeed, there have been considerable advances in the
psychoanalytic understanding of diversity within the context of the therapeutic relationship.
In the psychoanalytic perspective, the practitioner/consultant helps to foster emotional
insight, and the uncovering of conscious and unconscious feelings and thoughts, which is
central to identifying conflict and promoting change. McWilliams (2003) noted that
uncovering feelings can allow for experience to be organized, giving “form to chaos”
(p.251).
Explain whether the limitations of the study might impact your ability to use
the findings/outcomes presented in the article. Support your position with
evidence-based literature.
I would partially use the findings in this article since Psychoanalysis became one of the mechanisms for
interpreting hidden meaning of the text. However, one approach cannot adequately explain everything
about a complex work. According to Hossain (2017) level of unconscious is the shared with other
members of individual’s surrounding which contains latent memories from our ancestral and
evolutionary past. He thinks individual born in the world where there are innate memories with hidden
meaning from his/ her ancestors. According to Jung human mind has innate characteristics which
imprinted such as fear of darkness insects etc. and universal and shared tendencies of ancestral. Jung
called these ancestral memories and images archetypes.
