Nurses act as mentors in the clinical setting when it comes to implementing evidence based
practice. Nurses' confidence develops as they become more familiar with concepts and better
understand their clinical practice. Nursing knowledge are an essential part of today's nursing
practice. Research and evidence-based treatment must be embraced for the nursing profession to
continue to flourish and provide excellent patient care (Chinn, & Kramer, 2011).'
Nursing professional competency is an essential component of the nursing profession. This tenet
focuses on security and quality of nursing care.
According to Roy & Callista, (2019), poor nursing skills often result in negative results such as a
lack of confidence, low workplace morale and low self-identity. Nursing is at a crossroads that
needs finding ways to reconcile philosophical and conceptual/theoretical knowledge creation
with empirical research, particularly in the developing linked biologic sciences.
In my perspective, power of nursing entails having the knowledge and confidence to enhance the
healthcare system in your community. If nurses understand their scope of work, they will be
more confident in their ability to teach and pass on that information their patients and the
community. It is a perfect example of why I believe the two are inextricably linked. The amount
of positive change that would result if all nurses were fully empowered leaders may be
significant. An empowered nurse has the knowledge, motivation, and confidence to make a
difference in the world. This could appear to be a minor adjustment, such as improving the
efficiency of your work area.
In reference to Chinn and Kramer (2011), knowledge can be expressed or communicated to
others in different forms. Sharing knowledge is significant since it creates a disciplinary
community beyond the isolation of individual experience. Nurses must be self-aware in order to
sympathize with their patients and treat them with compassion. Nurses that are self-aware are
better able to adapt to, or at the very least adjust their attitudes and behaviors in order to
comprehend how unusual people care for them, therefore increasing the nurse-patient interaction.
Nurses must consider if they can care for a client in a dependent manner and whether the
relationship interferes with gathering the client's needs.
Nursing knowledge allows healthcare providers to integrate what they have learnt from research,
clinical guidelines, and patient care findings into their daily nursing work (Lim, & Noh, 2015).
For example, I keep a watchful eye on my patients' vital signs after any therapy treatment.
Suppose the research shows that monitoring vital signs every hour rather than every 30 minutes
for patients is beneficial. In that case, I could potentially save a lot of time and paperwork while
simultaneously providing the best care to patients, as the knowledge suggests.
Academic motivation is critical in nursing education because providing effective nursing
services necessitates students having adequate motivation to learn a significant quantity of
information and skills and to continue their study. In nursing students, there has been evidence of
a positive and significant association between academic drive and professional dedication.
Furthermore, motivated nursing students are less likely to experience academic melancholy and
have higher self-esteem (Roy & Callista, 2019). The executive leadership focus of a DNP-
prepared nurse is for leadership jobs in the healthcare system. The DNP-prepared leader has
education and training in various crucial areas, including quality, service, process assessment,
and improvement, making them helpful in addressing these issues and transforming the
healthcare landscape (Roy & Callista, 2019).
The current trends geared towards enhancing nursing knowledge in healthcare entails
introduction of on line nursing degree programs. These programs allow nurses to continue their
education while maintaining their busy schedules. The transition to online nursing degrees does
not, however, only extend to RN-to-BSN programs. It now offers an online Master of Science in
Nursing as well as an online Doctor of Nursing Practice. Nurses take the lead in developing
health policy changes by using their nursing knowledge to advocate for patients, consumers, and
the nursing profession (Bellack, & Thibault, 2016). Our healthcare facility offers
