THE IMPACT OF ORGANISATION CULTURE ON EMPLOYEE PRODUCTIVITY
DATA PRESENTATION, ANALYSIS AND PRESENTATION
Introduction
The chapter presents the analysis and discusses the data collected in research for the purpose of
the study; the data obtained was analyzed using various characteristics ie the general
characteristics of respondents. In this section the researcher gives the general characteristics of
the respondent which are divided into; work experience, age, department involved, education
level and gender

It was assumed that the durations of period described the working experience of the respondents,
nine respondents have worked for 1-4 years which had 15 % while 18 respondent have worked
between 6-8 years represented by 30%, on the other hand 17 respondents had worked between 9-
12 years represented by 28.33% and 16 respondents have worked for over 12 years in the
organization thus 26.67%.

According to the table presented above, it was found that nine which is 15% of the sixty
respondents fall below 25 years.14 of the respondents which is represented by 22% were
between 26-35 years.19 respondents fell under the 36-45 bracket represented by 36% while 18
respondents represented by 27% were between 46 and 55 years of age.

According to the table above 17 respondents which is 15% were employees who had attained
education level at the university, 23 respondents which is 55% had been classified as to have
attained college level of education while 20 respondents which were 20% were of secondary
school level of education.

As per the representation in the table above it is clear that there is a gender imbalance in the
employees working at the Rift Valley Textiles, this is shown by a high male frequency.
Analysis
The study analyzes the objectives of the study. The objectives were interpreted in form of tables
and there for tabulated in reference to the objectives of the study;
1) First was to find out whether Rift Valley Textiles practices various cultural
activities, the response was tabulated below

The analysis therefore indicates that Rift Valley Textiles practices various organizational and
cultural activities due to the large number of respondents supporting the cultural activities. There
were 43 respondents represented by 71.67% supporting the involvement of the organizational
activities, while 17 respondents represented by 28.33% were not sure that Rift Valley Textiles
practices various organizational and cultural activities.
2) The research was to find out various indicators of organizational culture were being
implemented at Rift Valley Textiles

The analysis indicates that Rift Valley Textiles company practices reward ceremonies; this is due
to the large number of respondents represented by 96.67% supporting the activity while only two
respondents represented by 3.33% were not sure of the practice.

The representation shows that more respondents disagree with the objectives of induction of new
comers with 42 respondents at 70% while 18 respondents agree that Rift Valley Textiles
practices induction for new comers at a rate of 30%.
4) Investigation if promotion of organizational symbols such as staff uniforms is used as an
organizational cultural activity

The above table shows 48 respondents were any attire represented by the frequency of 80%
while 20% which were 12 respondents showed that employees wore uniforms in the organization
therefore showing that organization symbols such as uniforms were not encouraged.

The above analysis shows that more respondents who were rating at 66% support innovation at
Rift Valley Textiles Company, 10 respondents at 17% disagree while 7 respondents at 17% were
not sure.

The above table shows that 58 respondents at 96% supported creativity of employees,2
respondents at 2% were not sure while 2 respondents at 2% disagree.

This analysis indicates that 37 respondents accepted the influence of organization culture on
employee productivity, 11 respondents at 13% disagree while 12 respondents at 20% were not
sure whether the organizational culture had influence on employee productivity.

According to the table analysis, directional hypothesis was accepted since 93.33% of 56
respondents out of 60, 4 respondents did not agree on the involvement on decision making which
is 6.67%
SUMMARY OF FINDINGS, CONCLUTIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
Conclusions
The study investigated four main aspects of organizational culture including; reward ceremonies,
induction programmes for new comers, organizational symbols and management relation to the
staff. The process of investigation was to establish the effects of organizational culture on
employee productivity at Rift Valley Textiles company it is vivid that reward ceremonies are
carried out in the company since long serving employees were rewarded and also best
performing employees were also rewarded for their work, though the induction aspect was not
clearly displayed, the response gave a hint that this practice may be occurring partially at the
institution whereas creativity in the company increased productivity it was noted that creativity
in an institution is a prime factor for indication of culture.
Recommendations
The findings of the study have some important implications on the activities of various
departments within Rift Valley Textiles Company. The researcher made the following
recommendations;
i) Cultural activities within the organization should be strengthened as they have a great
impact on employee productivity.
ii) All managers of the organization should be professionally qualified so as they can
serve as role models in the training of other junior employees
iii) Managers should be real practitioners, conscious of the fact that employee
productivity and the organization depends on the state or the availability of resources
