Positive social change can be achieved in larger and smaller ways. Positive social change
involves the process of building society and helping them to deal with various challenges. The
positive changes to society are made by educating the society on how to handle issues that might
impact their health and well-being. The type of study to be conducted to help improve the
individuals' lives are the youths between 18 and 35 years in the student and the working
population (Greenaway et al., 2016). The selected population are composed of diverse ethnicity
found within the society. The study is conducted to ensure that this population is educated on
how to deal with the issues of drugs.
Society is educated on how these youths can be helped to deal with the problem of drug
abuse. The study is important for the management of the learning institutions in dealing with the
issue of drug abuse amongst learners. The problem of drug abuse destroys morals hence
adversely affecting the development of society. The study will be characterized by learning about
youths' predisposing factors to drug abuse. Ethical considerations during this study include
seeking consent from the targeted participants (Fisher & Vacanti-Shova, 2012). This will be
followed by the provision of the questionnaires that focuses on peer pressure, poor parenting,
poverty, wealth, and its impact. The drug addicts will be interviewed to help in finding out the
types of approaches they use to fight addiction.
There are positive social change implications from the study, for example, informing
society about the impacts of the continued substance use by the youths. It will lead to the
placement of measures to help prevent youths from engaging in druid abuse. It will result in
successfully identifying the root causes of the adverse effects of drug use among youths. The
study will be important in eliminating the predisposing factors and successful rehabilitation of
youths (Fisher & Vacanti-Shova, 2012). The youths will be assisted in becoming more

productive and successful in dealing with the problem of drug abuse. The study will be important
in building a healthy and productive society, helping them deal with the situation.
