The two major environmental changes that I have concerns global warming, and ozone
depletion. due to global warming winters are changing every year some places are
having strong winters some are have light winters, this due to more vehicles, factories.
The earth temperature has risen due to carbon dioxide and warming the earths
temperature I can remember winters where we might be out of school for weeks at a
time this year was the first measurable snow in 4 years, as a young adult i did not thing
about it at all.
The ozone is essential it acts as a cover or shield it prevents harmful ultra violent rays
from penetrating the earths surface, this is why each state has rules and regulations on
releasing Freon from air conditioners, this has been a practice for our state for years not
sure about other states but it should be. We are loosing ground on our environment.
If we do not get a grip on the way things are being done my great grandchildren will not
see the beauty that nature has made and mankind has destroyed.
I have to admit my "Build Your Proficiency" was not the greatest, I have learned a lot of
new facts about the environment. This class seems as if it will be very interesting I
excited to learn a bunch of new things. One major environmental challenge we face in
society is poverty, there are so many different food banks where I am from. Chronic
hunger and malnutrition are things we face as a society, some families just do not have
access to food for their health or lack enough food at their dinner tables. We also see a
lot of food waste here. I learned about abandon buildings are called squatter
settlements, where the poorest of people live for shelter. These places could easily be
turned into shelters and create jobs or volunteer work. Another major environmental
challenge we face as society are humans not understanding the importance of
biodiversity and climate change for our survival. The pollution put into our atmosphere
and the amount of timber we take a way from forests affect the world around us. If
people would consider walking instead of using their vehicles the pollution could be cut
down. Also that every living organism plays a role in the way our survival.
