How I would describe academic writing to a co-worker who's thinking about going
back to school to earn their degree is that academic writing can be very challenging.
I would also explain to them that you have to write formal and proper grammar when
it comes to academic writing. For me writing formal means writing clear and know
what you're talking about. Always make sure you can understand it so others can
understand and know exactly what you're talking about. Academic writing is
different from how I write from everything else because I do write a little more formal
and proper as to writing in my personal life I do write formal but not fully. Example if
I am texting I will use a little slang here and there but I'm learning to not always do
that. Audience are different because academic writing they are reading something
totally different. They're reading something proper and correct Grammer as too
other things they are seeing things differently. The context is more clear and more
understanding to read.
