My proposed thesis statement for this weeks assignment has been established as
"The race for new news infringing on personal privacy in today's social media crazy
world." I think most recently a supporting article for this would be the helicopter
crash involving Kobe Bryant and his daughter; where Kobe's wife learned the news
via a article posted by TMZ. Again, there is evidence supporting a rush to post
information from TMZ in the death of a popular rapper who's family had to find out
via social media posts and responses.
Even going on a more personal basis, there are many instances I have been
informed of family events happening via social media posts before the family
member in question could reach out to me. The same can be said for how a majority
of deaths, births, wedding, and parties are communicated in today's social media.
We are in such a rush to inform, inform, inform that we don't stop to think of the
importance of properly informing someone so that maybe the rest of the world
doesn't see. That way there isn't a way for someone to feel slighted that wasn't
invited or in a lot of older generations they don't feel forgotten about because they
aren't as tech savvy.
