Helping a friend to pick a computer that will fit the specific needs mentioned above I
would start off by asking if they are going want it to be stationary or mobile such as a
laptop. For someone who plays games occasionally and if they want a computer not a
laptop, I would recommend an AMD Ryzen 3 3100 processor with a Nvidia Geforce GTX
1650- super to push some modern games like Call of Duty with decent fps. I would
suggest 16g of ram should be able to help run any games and should be good with
video editing. Me personally I like liquid cooling for my processor because of the noise
reduction and I have experienced better results with liquid cooling. I would suggest 1
terabyte of space me personally I love SSD because of how much faster it is but a hard
drive will do the job cheaper. A 600 watt PSU should do the job just fine with this set up.
I believe this set up is relatively cheap and will get the job done for someone who only
plays games occasionally and edits videos and pictures.
If I was helping my friend pick a computer to help suit their needs I would first ask if
they are looking for a desktop or a laptop and I would also ask what types of games they
would be playing. If they are going to play more intense/detailed and high level graphic
games I would recommend a more high end pc. To be more specific I would recommend
they either buy or build a pc with a Intel I-7 4400k with at least a terabyte of hard drive
space/ssd space. I chose the Intel I-7 because it will be able to quickly process anything
that you could want to do on the internet. Also, because it could run any game they
want to play and any photo editing program they want to download. I would also
recommend at least 8GB of ddr4 ram but 16GB would be much better. 16Gb ddr4 ram
would be better because they could access the pictures and all stored information much
faster. The graphics card I would recommend is the nvidia geforce gtx 780 ti because this
is the one I use personally and I know it can handle any game with max graphics and will
be good for any editing and daily use purposes and is also cheaper than the newest
graphics cards. One external device they might want is a external ssd/storage device
because they can take their projects or photos anywhere and they also might want a
printer to print out finished projects.
