Coaching process
To overcome a performance problem or develop skills to enhance productivity in sports,
a method of training, counseling, or instructing is needed. The main purpose of coaching
involves developing leadership, creating self-discipline, building a self-belief system, creating
motivation, and improving self-awareness. According to Martin, N. J. (2014), No matter where a
coach chooses to start, knowing why they are introducing strategies to address psychological or
social issues is an important first step. Ensuring that chosen approaches are evidence-based and
have clear outcomes and boundaries established is also key, especially in the absence of
formalized training. Exploring positive psychology can be energizing and lead to personal growth,
but like an exotic flower, its beauty should be regarded with a healthy blend of curiosity and
caution.
Creating a positive environment, Managing emotions, Dealing with officials, Motivating
players, Teaching players, and Developing players are the coaching characteristics that have
learned in the coaching process. However, the coaching process characteristic that I observed
more keenly and that can cause a major positive or negative impact on the game was creating a
positive environment. This was evident because although the referee was leaning on the
opponents' side by throwing flags at my team because of petty incidents that do not even require
flags, my team never gave up and fought hard until the final whistle. I believe that this was due
to the fact that they felt comfortable with me as their coach, and they knew that I had their back
no matter what the score was.

Another thing that I observed was that I never got too high or too low with my team. I
always tried to keep my emotions in check so that I could remain focused and calm, which can
help the team to remain focused and calm as well, additionally, help me to make better decisions
and strategize more effectively, and finally set a good example for the team and help them to
better control their own emotions during the game. I knew that if I showed any type of emotion,
good or bad, it would only worsen the situation because it could negatively affect the team's
performance. The team may become distracted or unfocused, and I may lose my temper and yell
at the players. This could lead to the players feeling disrespected or unimportant, and they may
not want to play again. I hope to learn from this course how to manage my emotions better, keep
them in hand as a coach, and better deal with officials. I also hope to learn how to motivate my
team better and get them to buy into my system.
