• The individuals who are neurodiverse do not need to change
themselves in order to conform to the mainstream society.
They need to be accepted, and their strengths must be
identified and celebrated. Neurodiversity is a part of the human
evolution process which gives rise to distinctive benefits. For
example, the genetic variants relating to autism are connected
with exceptional memory, solid vision and high perception
(YouTube, 2018). The environment must be changed to meet
the needs of neurodiverse individuals so that they can find
success on their own terms.
• Society can benefit from diverse ways of thinking since they
can contribute to innovation and creativity. By educating and
extending support to young individuals with different learning
needs, it is possible to accelerate the innovation trajectory and
give a boost to the innovators of the future. Neurodiversity has
the potential to act as a vital resource that is yet to be explored
to its fullest. It is necessary to identify the niche that suits
neurodiverse individuals so that they can get an opportunity to
leverage their strengths by working on brilliant and amazing
creative ideas (YouTube, 2017).
• It is a fundamental necessity to bring about a paradigm shift so
that neurodiversity would not be considered to be something
that needs to be fixed. For moving away from the stigma, it is
vital for people to understand that neurodiversity is a part of
the human evolution process. When thinking of diversity,
people must not restrict their thinking to elements such as race,
gender or sexual orientation. It is vital to consider the
individuals that have diverse brain functioning capabilities. Only
by raising awareness about neurodiversity that exists in society,
is it possible to celebrate the strengths of neurodiverse people
and create a platform for them where they can capitalize on
their strengths and achieve success in life.
• The neurodiversity concept is related to the social justice
theme. Generally, people with neurodiverse needs face
discrimination in society, and they are looked upon. The
different learning ability coupled with unfair treatment in
society increases the challenges for individuals to thrive in
society (Hughes, 2016). Social justice mainly emphasizes
fairness that exists in the social setting. Social justice can be
ensured by accommodating neurodiversity in the social context.
It can make sure that individuals with diverse brain
functionalities get to lead a normal life just like any other
member of society, and they are not subjected to unfair
treatment based on condition (Hughes, 2016).
