Overview
Throughout this course you will improve your ability to think, analyze, problem solve, and argue
intelligently. However, before you can begin to master strategies and techniques, you must
examine your current ways of thinking to identify forms of resistance you may use and patterns
you may have that hinder your ability to think critically. You may also wish to consider times
that you try to rationalize inconsistent or illogical behavior. For this journal assignment, you will
reflect on your personal barriers to critical thinking.
Prompt: After reviewing “Barriers to Critical Thinking” (Boss, 2021, pp. 22-28), reflect
honestly and analyze your own personal challenges. Specifically, the following critical elements
must be addressed in your journal assignment:

A. Describe current barriers to critical thinking that you face.
B. Describe future barriers to critical thinking you think you may face in your
career. Explain why you think you may face these barriers.
