Here at Caleb's Cookies, we have a set of core values that drives our
culture and performance. Yes, I know you all have gone over these
core values in you knew hire onboarding and training and you have
heard your supervisors talk about them in your staff meetings but I
think that it is important we touch on these once again this morning.
Our core values are as follows: Entrepreneurship: Always looking for
the next trend and staying on top of the market, Ethical: Always
taking the high road and doing things the right way even if no one is
watching and Excellence: Striving to be the best and never accepting
mediocracy.
This morning I regret to inform you that one of these core values was
broken. Doughy, our main supplier for most of our ingredients was
exposed for having poor working conditions, child labour, extremely
low wages, requiring unnecessary long hours and provides their
employees with no healthcare benefits or any leave of any kind.
Here at Caleb's Cookies, we value ourselves on partnering and
sourcing from company's who believe in our core values and only
want to add to the excellence of our company. We want to apologize
not only to our valued and hardworking employees for this finding
but to the workers of Doughy who through no fault of their own
must work in these inhumane conditions. We are doing everything in
our power to find new sourcing of materials from companies that
align better with our values and expectations. In the mean time we
hope you can accept our apology and ask for patience and
forgiveness through this process of switching to a different main
sourcing company for our ingredients. If you have any questions,
