Organizational Change 2
To help shape, steer, and maintain the organization's transition effort, I have been tasked
with forming a guiding coalition as part of the enterprise to find a buyer for the life sciences
firm. To identify the members of a leading coalition, I am looking for the following four traits:
One must have 1) positional power, especially among line managers who are essential to the
continuation of the change progression; 2) cross-functional expertise to make decisions that are
well thought out, realistic, and1innovative, 3) guarantee each person has authenticity within the
company, and 4) "individuals with proven leadership and management skills to drive the
change"(Kotter, 2012).
Recommendation
While analyzing the company's organizational chart and profiles of key employees, I have
narrowed my nominations down to the following individuals who can effectively commit to
bringing about the desired transformation. I propose the following candidates for various
positions within the company:
1. Omar Mattsson, Manufacturing Director
2. John Martensson, Research Director
3. Elaine Hartwick, Acting Director
4. Leslie Krupp, Sales Representative
Rationale
1I chose this group because they are representative of all of the company's divisions and
