Acquisitions and mergers are not simple tasks. The research subsequent to this is going to
focus on two businesses that had the potential to be excellent examples of an effective M&A yet
fell short. The effectiveness or defeat of an M&A might occasionally be determined by its
absence of adequate preparation and performance for incorporating cultures (Knilans, 2009).
Two businesses, Smith Automotive Corporation and Barcelona Brand Auto, are highlighted in
the following.
Overview
Widespread traits. The early days of both businesses, which are in the automotive sector,
were modest. Although the internal embellishments produced by the two businesses used various
parts, they were both engaged in developing and production of them.Additionally, both
businesses are developing connections with renowned automakers like Mercedes, Jaguar, and
others.
The variations in goods and services. Whereas Smith started off as a trading firm, BBA
ran autonomously under the leadership of the company's owner Luis Barros. Whereas both
businesses supplied accessories and products for the home, BBA concentrated in producing
items specifically for its clients' needs. The specialty of Smith, in contrast, was "seating,
monitoring sections, and cockpits, interior lighting, floor consoles, and overhead system" (Sousa,
M., & Comiteau, L., 2015).
