Strengths
•Adaptability and Flexibility: Throughout my professional journey, I have continually
needed to adjust to fresh circumstances, innovations, and market shifts. In my role as a
Business Development Manager, I regularly modify tactics to align with changing client
requirements, showcasing an adaptability that perceives transformation as an inherent oc-
currence rather than an interruption.“Adapting well to change can improve collaboration,
communication and the overall daily working environment” (Thompson, 2024).
•Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Effective dialogue is crucial in my
position, encompassing relationship building, attentive listening, and expressing strategic
choices. These abilities are essential for adaptability to change, allowing me to connect
with peers, comprehend their viewpoints on the acquisition, and tackle issues. Robust com-
munication nurtures trust and enables smoother transitions, assisting in securing backing
for new ventures.
Weaknesses
•Occasional Resistance to Perceived Loss of Autonomy: Although I cherish teamwork, I
equally treasure independence. Adjustments that limit oversight on initiatives might pro-
voke initial opposition. Acknowledging this inclination is crucial to prioritize comprehen-
sion of the reasoning behind alterations and discovering chances for ongoing engagement.
•Tendency Towards Detailed Planning: My inclination towards detailed guidelines could
prove to be a drawback when encountering swift or unforeseen transitions. This may lead
to unease with uncertainty during the procurement phase. Nurturing a higher capacity for
uncertainty and adaptability is essential for responding effectively when the direction
ahead is indistinct.

Opportunities
•Leveraging Communication Skills for Change Advocacy: The merger presents a chance
to leverage my communication abilities to serve as a proponent for change. By actively in-
teracting with teammates, tackling issues, and clearly conveying the advantages of the
merger, I can help reduce apprehension and promote an optimistic perspective. This expe-
rience can enhance my leadership capabilities by influencing the dialogue surrounding
transformation.
•Utilizing Adaptability in Cross-Functional Integration: The assimilation post-acquisi-
tion is expected to foster greater interdisciplinary teamwork. My flexibility will be advan-
tageous in managing new professional relationships and varied organizational cultures,
creating chances to improve my cross-departmental collaboration abilities.
Threats
•Potential for Information Silos and Lack of Transparency: A significant concern dur-
ing the merger is the anxiety regarding job stability, which is prevalent among staff when
duties and expectations might shift. To alleviate this concern, I intend to remain proactive
by prioritizing my career growth and fostering open dialogue with the leadership team.
This strategy will help diminish ambiguity and enable me to concentrate on my tasks dur-
ing the transition (Shoos et al., 2022).
•Risk of Reduced Morale and Engagement: The ambiguity regarding the takeover can
adversely affect staff morale. To combat this, I will uphold an optimistic outlook, exhibit
determination, and assist my teammates. Engaging in efforts to tackle employee worries
and cultivate a sense of belonging can alleviate negative repercussions.
Change Readiness

1.3 Journal
This SWOT assessment reveals a largely favorable perspective on my readiness for
change. My strengths in flexibility and communication will aid in the acceptance and navigation
of the acquisition process. I am confident in my ability to adapt to new situations and collaborate
with colleagues to ensure a seamless transition. Although I am geared up to embrace the organi-
zational shift, spearheading change initiatives for the entire organization necessitates a distinct
skill set. My current position is more aligned with overseeing the business development compo-
nents of the transition and providing support to my peers. The SWOT analysis offers crucial in-
sights into my personal readiness for change. My adaptability and communication abilities are
essential strengths for maneuvering through the acquisition, while addressing shortcomings re-
lated to independence and strategic planning will be crucial. By capitalizing on opportunities and
alleviating threats, I can strengthen my capability to manage and lead through this organizational
transformation.
