Learning Objectives
By the end of this module, you will meet these learning objectives:
Emphasize the role of training in change management
Identify the training requirements of the workforce
Module Overview
An organization’s greatest strength is its workforce—its human capital.
Without an empowered workforce, any strategic or operational plan is
bound to fail. This is because the workforce eventually drives all
proposed changes necessary for the organization's growth.
In the previous module, you explored the importance of
communication in the rollout and management of change. As a leader,
you will be tasked with ensuring that you not only use appropriate
communication channels to inform your workforce about changes in
the workplace, but also lead the change initiative and provide
appropriate, timely, and transferable training or learning opportunities
to them. Such training, in turn, can help operationalize communication
on change management.
This module will help you understand the importance of workforce
training in change management. You will also learn about the
importance of facilitating the effective and timely transfer of learning
and how organizations can ensure this is happening.
In addition to providing appropriate and timely learning opportunities,
organizations must ensure that all learning can be transferred and
applied outside the learning environment. In the absence of such
facilitation, learning may remain separated from the real world.
In this module, you will continue in your role as an HR consultant in a
multinational organization. You will analyze the leadership best
practices of a successful global organization and write a brief to
present your findings and recommendations to the VP of the
organization. In the brief, you will include leadership development
initiatives and delivery methods to implement these initiatives.
