Traditional marketing can be defined as the form of marketing that
leverages the traditional media or channels for marketing
communication. The most prominent channels used in traditional
marketing are broadcast, print, outdoor advertising, etc.
The two forms of traditional marketing channels that have been
selected are TV and radio.
Baby Boomers – Baby boomers are the people born between 1946 to
1964 (Canavan, 2020). Television is highly appealing for the baby
boomers. So, advertising through television can help in targeting baby
boomers better. The baby boomers still listen to the radio. Therefore, it
is also considered as an ideal medium to reach out to them.
Millennials or Generation Y – Millennials are people born between
1981 to 1996. Television is highly appealing for millennials as they
spend a lot of time watching TV. Radio is also appealing for millennials
as they listen to the radio frequently.
Generation X – Generation X are the people who are born between
1965 to 1980. Both TV as well as radio are highly appealing mediums
for communicating and advertising to them.
Generation Z – Generation Z are the people born between 1997 to
2012. TV is quite appealing for the individuals of this generation.
However, radio is less appealing to this generation as they consider it to
be outdated.
One of the creative forms of TV advertising is funny storytelling. Funny
commercials that include clever or witty humor are likely to attract the
attention of the target audience the most. It has also influenced my
purchasing decision. Owing to the fun element, I loved watching the
funny ads. This, in turn, kept the product at the top of my mind all the
time, and I ended up purchasing that product.
One of the creative forms of radio advertising is marketing the product
by connecting it with an emotional story. This form of radio advertising
attracts my attention and persuades me to buy the product.
An excellent idea for marketing the brand connected to consumer
research is conducting a survey. This can help in providing the
marketers with appropriate insights relating to the taste, preferences,
and wants of the consumers and marketing to them accordingly. An
idea for marketing the brand connected to SEO is infusing the right
keywords into the advertising content. This ensures that the
advertisements rank high on the popular search engines and attract
more traffic. It helps in effective marketing and reaching out to the
target audience better.
