Welcome to MBA 620: Measuring Success in an Organization!
Everyone has their own way of measuring success. For some, it might
mean earning a certain amount of money, reaching a certain position
at work, earning a degree or certificate, or it might simply mean being
able to help another person. So, the meaning of success can be deeply
personal and different for every individual. But what about
organizations? Do the parameters of success change for each
organization, or do all organizations only look at their bottom line to
define success?
Organizations determine success based on how well they do on
performance measures or metrics based on different perspectives,
such as financial, operational, growth, and so on. The performance
metrics are defined and implemented through performance
management systems or frameworks. Performance management
frameworks help organizations define, monitor, evaluate, and improve
the performance of an organization at different levels.
