Module Overview
At the heart of the IT system are the machines that we use every day.
Just as the concept of HCI studied in Module One is important to
maintaining user focus on how the computer works, it’s important to
understand the relationship between the hardware of the computer
and the software that makes it work. In this module, we will study the
different hardware components of a computer, what their purposes
are, and how they are used as part of a computing system to process
what users need and want. The software field is a fast-growing part of
the IT system that makes the capabilities of the hardware available to
users. As hardware evolves and provides additional features and
increased performance, the software we run must utilize those
features.
