Value-based care correlates care services with efficient and effective
provider care (LaPointe, 2022). There are many programs that aim to
decrease the cost of healthcare for patients, while also trying to
simultaneously improve the patient’s overall health status (LaPointe,
2022). To help manage guidelines based on cost efficiency, I think
the government should have a central position on this matter.
There are many healthcare organizations that are currently
government-owned that provide various services and foundations
associated with the healthcare industry (Mjaset et al., 2020). The
government also has access to large funds that can be used to create
new programs and practices focusing on value-based care (Mjaset et
al., 2020). There are many regulations put into place that help control
where funds are spent to make sure that it is spent rationally to
better aid the health care industry (Mjaset et al., 2020). The
government also aims to standardize clinical care for patients to help
maintain healthcare structure and make sure that patient care is the
top priority in all facilities (Mjaset et al., 2020). The government also
has many ties with important stakeholders which can help drive
different health care programs for the industry and give support for
new program ideas (Mjaset et al., 2020).
Overall, I think the government should be in a central position to
issue guidelines into the healthcare industry for cost efficiency. The
government has many opportunities available that other
organizations do not, which allows for the healthcare industry to
excel in many different directions.
