The domain quiz over the course of a few weeks and so far, compliance with the
use and disclosures of the PHI domain has been the most challenging.
Compared to the other quizzes, it had the lowest grade. If I were to retake the
quiz, to succeed, I would be reading more about HIPAA Privacy Rules to
better understand what disclosure entails and the permitted use of healthcare
operations. These days, it can be a little difficult to keep up with time and manage
it properly. My study strategy will entail setting at least two hours aside every day
to go over the weekly material, these two hours will of course exclude any
distraction whatsoever. After taking the domain quizzes I saw that I have a few
areas of weakness. While taking the Practice It Quizzes my strongest areas were
Health Law, Health Information Privacy and Security, CPT Coding, Classification
Systems and Secondary Data Sources. My weakest Practice It Quizzes belonged
to: Informatics and Information Systems Review, Health Data Content and
Standard Review, Information Retention and Access Review, Medical Billing and
Reimbursement Systems Review. I scored okay with the Domain Quizzes of
Information Governance, Compliance with Users and Disclosures of PHI, and
Management and Leadership. I had the best score in Domain Quiz Revenue
Management, and the worse score on Domain Quiz Data Analytics and
Informatics. I may need to increase my study time and how I study for the RHIA
exam. I remember when I was studying for my RHIT exam; I studied not only
with my school’s study activities, but I also purchased an online AHIMA study
guide. I found that study guide very useful and I ended up passing the RHIT
exam on my first try. In taking the mock exams, the areas I show need improvement
include coding rules, healthcare law, and statistics. I have worked on more study
time for coding and made appointments with available tutoring to help me feel more
comfortable with the math portions, as I am aware that this is not my strongest
point. I have also created flashcards and started creating tests that randomize
information and allow me to work on my weaker knowledge points.
