The project management role in any type of project is vital. The
project manager must consider all the different ways the project
affects the organization. The project manager oversees the project
management life cycle, initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and
controlling, and closing.
In the Gateway merger case. There had been such a significant
variation between the locations. It was as if it was starting from
scratch. We could see how each department was affected and how
process improvement effects the organization. Setting a timeline and
clear assignments is important but just as important and maybe even
more is communication. b Using tools such as a gap analysis and Gantt
charts helps. Lastly following up to see if there is further need to
change process.
