Irrespectively of the sort of company, all firms need some aspect of
Computer Security or Cybersecurity. These companies have policies,
statements of purpose, and rules, among other things. Nonetheless, many
firms lack an adequate IT Governance Framework. IT Governance is a
collection of frameworks that give businesses the structure necessary to
guarantee that IT services and security support match the organization's
requirements (Appalachian State University, 2022). To achieve these
requirements, businesses use a variety of frameworks. These frameworks
include topics like security, online streaming, and risk evaluations. Since
Padgett- Beale operates in the service industry business, the Information
Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework will best serve our firm.
This framework is largely used to improve service and operations (Nyhuis,
2020).
The ITIL model was built by Great Britain in the 1980s, and it soon gained a
reputation for implementing uniform IT practices across the full architecture
and lifespan (Gartner, 2022). In 2011, the most effective implementation of
ITIL v3 (also known as ITIL 2011) was created. That foundation is not a
product nor a product development program; rather, it consists of the best
concepts and procedures for developing, implementing, and managing IT
services.
There are five key elements of the ITIL:
1. Service Strategy- This business assists companies in determining what
solutions their clients need and then assisting the firm in providing
such services to its customers.
2. Service Operation- To provide services, this framework is utilized to
organize everyday operations, procedures, and infrastructure. To
minimize delays and complications in the delivery of these services to
clients, high-level assistance is required.
3. Service Transition – Maintains modifications in the company's lifespan
operations, as well as new risks, modifications to services, and the
retirement of services, to assist the business in providing high-quality
services.
4. Service Design- The company offers a systematic approach to service,
products, development, and business innovation, enabling it to
produce superior services. The following are the components of this
framework:
a. Applications that are being developed
b. Organizing and directing information systems and tools
c. Technologies
d. Processes and measures for assessing performance
5. Continual Service Improvement- The ITIL lifecycle is always being
enhanced to deliver the greatest service possible. This is accomplished
via the use of feedback, the identification of opportunities, and the
identification of areas for development. This method necessitates that
all parties recognize their respective roles in identifying problems and
improving service (Nyhuis, 2020).
However, even though some of the elements of ITIL are likely to be in use
at Padgett-Beale properties, learning how to effectively employ the
structure may help us ensure that we are following ITIL best practices and
recommendations. Padgett-Beale will be able to deliver the finest possible
service to its consumers as a result of this arrangement.
