Padgett-Beales goal is to accommodate above and beyond service
to all customers. Maintaining digital security is a key role in
maintaining data privacy. Customer information is collected for
various purposes in order to accommodate customers’ needs and
services. To that end there will be staff that will have access to this
information. These staff members will be responsible for integrity
and safeguarding customer information and should be taken
seriously.
Maintaining guest privacy is vital to avoid cybercrimes. Customers
are responsible only for the information they provide to us, Padgett-
Beales is responsible for the protection and integrity of the data
(LHW, 2022).
The importance of maintaining guest privacy is to practice the
human rights of individuals. “The right of privacy has evolved to
protect the ability of individuals to determine what sort of
information about themselves is collected, and how that information
is used.” (LII, 2022).
With that said through digital marketing customer information is
collected through use of website cookies, online transaction, and
online profiles. It is important to realize that we take this
information to better serve customers needs. Other reasons include
• “To help recognize or identify any accounts customers hold
with us
• To assist in reservations
• Billing purposes
• Health and personal reasons to better serve you (allergies,
accommodations)
• To contact you in relation to your stay with us”
(Four Seasons, 2020).
Safeguarding personally identifiable information is important
because of risk of cybercrimes.
Cyber crimes such as Identity theft, ransomware attacks, data
spoofing, loss of funds, and loss of data integrity. These types of
attacks can not only effect individuals but hotel operations as well.
Loss of hotel operation or financial loss can lead to termination of
employment as well as federal charges in compliance to your
jurisdiction if found guilty not practicing privacy policies (LII, 2022).
