What is the significance of Mapp v. Ohio?
This case was significant because as a result, the Supreme Court ruled
under the 4th and 14th Constitutional amendments, that illegally seized
evidence could not be used in a state criminal trial.
Explain the role and importance of the exclusionary rule.
The importance of the exclusionary rule is that it requires probably cause,
it assumes innocence before guilt, it requires lawmakers to follow the law,
and it limits the power of the government.
The role of the exclusionary rule is to prevent the government from using
evidence attained in violation of the United States Constitution. In other
words, the rule applies to evidence gained from an unreasonable search or
seizure in violation of the Fourth Amendment.

seizure.
