MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT WITH FATALITIES
On January 7th, 2019, at 2:30am the Main City Sheriff’s Department responded to reports of a
single motor vehicle crash. Upon arrival at the Central Bridge, the Sheriff’s Department tended
to a Black SUV that hit a barrier wall and had two occupants, a male and a female. Upon
preliminary investigation officers did observe open containers of alcohol in the front seat of the
black SUV. Paramedics responded to the scene at approximately 2:35am and began to triage the
two unresponsive victims immediately. Paramedics transported the victims to Main City Trauma.
Upon arrival at approximately 2:54am the male victim was pronounced deceased while the
female victim remains in critical condition. News regarding the male victim being the mayor’s
son began to circulate and at this time we can confirm the deceased victim was the mayor’s son.
The female victim has yet to be identified pending family notification. At this time, alcohol
appears to be the main factor in the crash. The Central Bridge will remain closed until 5:30am.
