How did your company do at the end of the first time you
completed the simulation compared with at your last run-
through?
At the end of the first run of the simulation, I ended up leading the
company to becoming a national business while also maintaining a
great family relationship. While at the end I made the business go to
an international business all around the world, moving away from
bees and going into cosmetics.
How did the company's growth change over the course of the
three run-throughs?
Over the three-run course the company went from a small business
to a multi-level international super business. This business went from
focusing on bees to becoming a large cosmetic international
business.
Which of your decisions do you think affected the company
and its growth more than others?
oWere these decisions made with the family in mind?
Explain why or why not.
oWhich decisions served your company well and how?
oAre there any decisions or actions you would take
differently now that you know more about how they
affect a business? Explain why or why not.
I believe that every business decision that was made was extremely
crucial to the sucess of the business as well as to keeping the family
aspect of the business alive as well. Not all decisions could be made
with the family in mind because it is a choice of whether to focus and
trust family or to expand and get outside help. When I first did the
simulation, I focused on the family as that is how I would run my
business. I would most likely never get to becoming an international
business but at the same time I don't think I would ever want to have
a company of that size of my own. But if I were to go international
then I would definitely get help from the outside such as
stakeholders and other positions throughout the business.
