The makeup of my project team will have a project manager, a project
lead, and two project assistants. This team of people will help me
execute the tasks for my CSR and DEI objectives and incorporate the
new service into the strategic plan for Target.
One of the CSR objectives for Target is to commit a certain amount of
hours to pro bono consulting services that seek out small businesses
of the Black community. In 2021, they achieved 10,000 hours for this
cause, and I believe our new childcare service in Target can also
support this mission. We can seek out consultants for this service
about the health and safety aspects of this facility and understand the
license and laws regarding childcare. Additionally, we can donate a
percentage of fees from the child care service to a nonprofit
organization such as the YMCA, which contributes to communities
but specifically for childcare and youth development.
I would work with the Human Resources department to attract,
develop, engage, and reward my project team. They would come up
with a tremendous recruiting plan and screen other employees who
may be the team's right fit. To engage an excellent project team, I
would make sure there are clear objectives for each role. Additionally,
I would empower them to make decisions instead of ruling over or
micromanaging them. Lastly, I would make a recognition and reward
incentive plan. "Often the simple gestures of gratitude that can be the
most impactful because they're direct and personal" (Sodexo, n.d)—
showing employees the recognition they deserve to show that the
company cares and motivates other employees. Also, having a reward
system has shown that 85% of employees are more motivated to
perform better (Sodexo, n.d.). Rewards like quarterly bonuses or
individual rewards like gift cards are a great way to show a company's
appreciation for meeting goals and objectives.
