In general, it is essential for a business to bring changes in its strategies so that it can
develop and grow the business in an effective and successful manner. Likely, the BMC of Harsh
honey business is facing difficulties due to the changes and growth currently. When Harsh
started his honey business, the key activities and value intentions were different. Presently,
Harsh children found some changes in the value intentions and key activities that are different
from the creation of their father (Bhavani, 2020). Harsh and his wife have given their efforts to
put into their family business model by employing principles and passions. This principle and
passion have been followed by the Harsh children. It can be evident that the honey business has
gone through many directions and changes, along with many people’s suggestions. However,
the family has chosen to stand with the groundwork that has been set up earlier by their father,
Harsh.
The effect of decisions
When Harsh passed away, the family honey business was taken over by Ravi. Some
changes have been done in the honey business. Ravi has given the focus on the addition of a new
product line by adding syrups, candies, additional sweets, and confectioneries. Ravi has utilized
the honey that has been harvested by Harsh in the honey business (Bhavani, 2020). It has been
found that the BMC was not ready to bring changes in the original business plan, which has
made the family take an important decision f to bring changes to their family business. Thus, the
family and the company took a hit that is causing a shortage of bees. This has resulted in to
increase in the production cost and impacted the business.

The last decision that has been taken by the Harsh family is allowing the outsiders to the
company to venture. In the end, the Harsh family has loosened everything in the company, and
they have been forced to sell out the company to one of the decedents of Harsh. Here, the family

business and values were lost, and the company became thrived. The completion of the
stimulation with keeping the family in line through the successful running of the family's honey
business has resulted in failure in the business and caused animosity within the Harsh family.
Assess your decisions
Here, it has been identified that the second simulation was not the right choice for the
honey business. This company has begun with an aim to grow the family business. Likely,
many businesses have been set up successfully as family-run businesses that usually end up
with some misleading steps. The growth of the family business should be within their own
individual families, ethics, values, and principles; otherwise, it could lead to destruction in the
business. Here, the welcoming of outsiders protects the business but causes differences in
opinions that could result to affect the family business and enhance its growth as the company.
It has been identified that Harsh's children know how hard work has been done Harsh to build
the company and bring growth to the company to support them. As the family picture has
changed now with the children, grandchildren and their descendants, many problems have
occurred with the separation of the family and differences in opinion. Thus, it is essential for a
business to maintain its core values so that the business can improve with the family efforts.
