The company I chose to work on is Coca-Cola. Coca-Cola has a CSR and
DEI policy well documented on their website.
• What is the company's position on DEI? Do they have a clear
policy or initiative around it?
• Coca-Cola has a well document DEI policy that is easy to
locate on their website. "The Coca-Cola Company's
diversity, equity and inclusion strategy includes three long-
term ambitions: Mirror our Markets, Equity for All and
Inclusivity." (Coca-Cola). The website well documents
specific, measurable goals.
• What actions could you take to ensure a diverse, inclusive, and
equitable project team is assembled?
• I think Coca-Cola says it will with mirroring markets. Coca-
Cola's goal is to have women hold 50% of senior leadership
roles and to have their employees representative of
national census data at all time. Focusing on these goals will
help ensure a diverse project team. Coca-Cola also has
"Employee Inclusion Networks" to help learn from
employees and create an inclusive environment.
• What is the company's commitment to CSR and how does it affect
their profitability or image in the market?
• The company has extensive documentation of goals
regarding CSR as viewable online with their Environmental,
Social and Governance Index. This includes a variety of
policies related to thinks like climate, labor, wages and
health. This helps investors make good decisions on where
to invest and shows to investors that they are making
efforts to improve and maintain their responsibility. This
improves image and profitability as consumers continue to
increase decision making based on these topics.
• How does your product or service align with the company's CSR
program and how can you leverage this position as a competitive
tool?
• The main area my product idea aligns with CSR is with the
reduction of waste. This will allow competition in that
consumers may begin to chose Coke products since they
can consume them without all the waste that comes with
producing individual servings with plastic and aluminum
containers.
