Business Journal Simulation 2
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
This final run of the business simulation aimed to find a good balance between the
family's desires and what would make the business successful. The Honey Heritage Farm reached
national level on its first attempt and scored medium in both the family and ownership categories.
The second and final run of my simulation was focused on making the best possible business
decisions. In the final run of the study, Honey Heritage Farms achieved global status with a score
of medium in the family category and a high score in the ownership category. In my opinion, the
most interesting part of the exercise was that I maintained a medium score in family no matter
how it was conducted. My family score would have been higher if I had not hired anyone from
outside the family and kept everything within the family. Even though my score is medium, it
indicates that no matter what decision I make, the family will never be completely satisfied.
Because if this diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) would be detrimental to the business's
success regardless of those family members who did not agree with the choices made.
