My opinion is the government regulations imposed on businesses are there
for a reason. Take for instance the Occupations Safety and Health
Administration (OSHA), I work in a manufacturing facility that deals A LOT
with the many different OSHA standards, and without these employees
would suffer the consequences. At times it feels like they may be a bit
overbearing for us, they make different tasks harder than they really have to
be, but some where along the lines someone got hurt because those standards
weren't in place. The easy way is not always the safe way, and being in a
production setting all we think about is moving parts, get the product out the
door to fulfill our customers orders, we don't always take the extra minute to
think about what COULD happen if something went wrong.*
Manufacturing facilities need these regulations, I see first hand how
important they truly are. Thinking about the different industries that have
government regulations, healthcare, education, agriculture, it is my belief that
there is a reason they are there, whether to protect the supplier or the
consumer, it's there because it needs to be.**
