My understanding is even deeper than it was before. I thought my
understanding of ethics was more than what it actually was. You
always hear people talking about what a company did wrong in
ethical issues with accounting. There wasn’t much that I found
challenging with these aspects of accounting ethics. The hardest part
was seeing all the way that companies will screw people if they can.
They will choose wrong over right if it means that they will make
more money.
I find that issues in accounting are relevant to me because even
though I am the administrative assistant in my distribution center, I do
all the payroll and invoicing. If it makes a mistake, intentional or
accidental, it could screw things up. It could make our books look
skewed. We could be under budget because something wasn’t
accounted for or over budget because I didn’t record something
correctly.
