YOUT 201: Survey of Youth Ministry
Healthy Ministry Perspective Assignment
In my opinion, a healthy youth ministry is one that runs consistently and has consistent leaders
who are committed to disciplining teenagers. Scripture must be the main source used and leaders
must be followers of Jesus. I believe a healthy student ministry consists of weekly gatherings
where the gospel is shared each time. Every student should be greeted and made to feel
welcomed and safe at each gathering. It is wise to hold small intimate groups outside of the
weekly group gathering where students are given the opportunity to dive deeper and be more
vulnerable with an adult leader. Students need to feel heard and seen and need to be invested in
spiritually, emotionally, and relationally. Following, a healthy student ministry should consist of
leaders who are holding to biblical principles and disciplines throughout the week, on their own.
Leaders should be held accountable for actions good, bad, and ugly. This weekly gathering
should be fun and energetic while also being committed to digging into the Word of God each
week.
