Essay: Team Levels Assignment
There are five different levels of the team required to do student ministry. I can
identify with each role needed but the one I resonate with most is the relational category
of the team. As the children’s director of our church, I watch these kids grow up. Many of
the students start out in my area. I get a first impression so to speak. I am also a kid at
heart, so I love serving on Wednesday nights playing the games with students and talking
to them about their day to day. I get the privilege to pray for these students by name and
specifically things they need prayer for. On Sunday’s, I make it a priority to find students
and say hey to them even if I do not know them in an effort to start new relationships.
Many of the students I have interacted with are now serving within my ministry. Some of
these students started as a child in my area who are led by children’s ministry Waymakers
and when they moved to students, they developed a heart to serve in the area’s they use to
be a part of. I have really loved this week’s portion of the book as developing teams is
what I do and it has been interesting viewing the different levels.
