Question 2: Church and Family Assignment
In all my years of experience and faithful service to the ministry, I do not need a book to
tell me about the needs in student ministry. It is very simple, putting God first and
foremost! Both the family and the church must be equally unified in common goals of
Christ first, strive to fulfill the Great Commission and to rebuke all of Satan’s lies and
deceptions. The student ministry must create a unified front to bring the students and
their families together. The church can not sit by or relax in this, they must work with the
families and not by having “fluff” events that are distracting to the purpose of the church
and the student activities are to bring more focus and positive attention and light on the
word of God and Christ! What I have seen over the years s that all the events take
away from and create a major distraction in the minds of the students and even the
adults. The Church must first develop and grow a strong base and take of the flock and
leave nobody behind before they can go out in the world and save more souls. All of the
outreach programs and events occur to attract new members ad leaving Christ out of
the picture. For a church or the student ministries to have a way to bless others, they
must bring blessings and take of the flock first, this way they would be better prepared
to do more and bless more as very valuable lesson in righteousness that the students
would learn to put Christ first. Another thing is strongly believed in is that the students
should NEVER be involved in any fund raising for the church as it teaches them that
money is a priority. This is a area that parents should become more involved and not
allow the student ministry to become a babysitter for their students. It would be such a
blessing if every student that shows up with a parent. WOW, what a prayer!
