Cain and Abel
The biblical acount of the Cain and Abel greately changed the way of Christian worship. Its
shows that Christians should be enthusiastic in their worship and offer quality offerings from
the best of their produce.
Jubal
Jubal is considered as the first musician and the father of harp and flute players. Thus, he
revolutionized worship by introducing instrumental music in worship.
Abraham
Abraham is the regarded as the father of faith. He was devout Christian who heeded by the
God’s commands to sacrifice his son Isaac whom he dearly loved. His account shows that
Christians should be ready to give everything they own for God’s sake especially in
worship.
Moses
Moses exhibits the link between worship and faith. Christians should be believe in the
power of prayer and have faith that their worship will be effective.
David
He frequently sang to the lord for delivering hik from the hand of enemies. Thus he
encouraged Christians to integrate praise music in their worship.

Instrument
In the Old Testament musical instruments were categoried into stringed, Reed, Concussive,
Purcussive and Signaling instruments. Stringed instruents such as harps usually
accompanied voices. The harp was commonly used by David. Reed pipe was used for
funerals and celebrations. Concussive instruments were carried and hand shaken
rhythmically. Percussive instruments include drums usually used on dance and celebration.
Siganling instruments include Shofar, made from animal horn and used to gather people for
worship and war.
Sacrifices
Sacrifices in the old Testament involved burning animals and leaving the smoke to
ascend. It is believed that God received the smoke as pleasing odor as explained in

Levititucs 1:13. Sacrifices expressed the relationship between Ancient Israelites with God
and strengthened the bond between them and God. Besides, offering was meant for
purification when the relationship between people and God was compromised. Guilt
offering for people asking for forgivness was also common.
Singing
There are numerous istances of singing in the old Testament. Music was a sign of
rejoicing and happieness. In the creation account, angels were singing as way of
celebration. Besides music was used for praising God. David was frequently singing to
God to thank him for delivering him from the hands of enemies. Besides, music was used
to express love as evidenced in the Songs of Solom. It also created a connection between
God and early Christians.
Feasting
Common Feasts and festivals in the Old Testament include Passover, Unleavened Bread,
Feast o the Trumptes, Firstfruits and the Day of Atonement. Feasting in the Old
Testament was a joyous way of celebration, reprieving from daily life hurdles and
marking religious events. They united people as they recalled crucial events in their
history. The festivals were commemorative and reminded peopleof the Genesis story of
creation. Also festivals gave people a change to worship and praise God.

Jesus
Jesus transformed worship brought about the notion that everybody was equal before
God. Unlike before, offerings and worship was not researved or the high priests. He
opened the opportunity for everyone to worship. In the old Testament worship was done
at certain times, executed at by certain people at certain times. Jesus Christ introduced a
new lifestyle of worship whereby people could worship and praise God anywhere, wether

John (Disciple of Jesus)
John was very close to Jesus Christ. He encourage the spread of Gospels in the different
parts of Israel and around the world. He recognized Jesus and Holy spirit as an intergral
part of prayer and worship. Besides, he encouraged the incorporation of Christain
teachings into worship and prayer.
The Disciples and Early Christians
Desciples and Early Christians abandoned the traditional ways of woshiping such as
offering burnt sacrifices. Burning of sacrices was replaced by offerings. Besides,

Pentecost
Pentecost refers to the day the Holy spirit descended to the desciples of Jesus Christ. The
Pentocosts depicts the role of Holy Spirits in Christians. Holy spirit is regarded as the third I

brings about the prescence of the holy spirt. Also, in christain worship music it is believed

crucifixion. Jesus died for the sins of Christians. Thus, the last supper rekindles the
imagination of the betrayl and crucifixion of Jesus to save mankind from sins. It made

prayer, Christians also seek for forgiveness.

John Calvin
John Calvin was a reformer and theologican from France, born in 1509 and died on 1564.
He is played a key role in the the development of the Calvinism system. Calvinists
opposed Roman Catholic. Thus he was a leading figure of reformaton who paved way for
other reformers.
Martin Luther

Martin Luther advocated for thr equality in Christianity, a factor that made him to fight
for reformation. He strongly taught that the bible was the key source of religious
authority and not religious leaders who denied people the freedom of woship. As a he
result people followed in the quest to split from Catholic and form other Christian
denominations.
The 95 Theses
The 95 Theses was drafter by Martin Luther king. The theses were against the abuse of
the powers of clergy in the Catholic church. Based on the Theeses, forgiveness was
achieved through repentance and not mere sacramental confession. He believed that
indulgences made Christian to avoid the real repentance from Christ as outlined in the
bible. Thus the ninety five sparked conteroversy that marked the beginning of
reformation.
Ulrich Zwingli
He is a key participant in the Swiss Protestant Reformation. He pioneered the Swiss
Protestant Reformation which facilitated the reformation process.He teamed up with
Martin Luther to reject the aeucharistic sacrifice. Also together they rejected the concept
of change of substance of substance in sacrament conied during the Medeival era.
Martian Luther’s Worship Practices
Luther rejected worship practices that involved sacrifice, and that created an impersiona
that Christians were offering rather than reciving Gift fro God. Besides, his practices
abandoned the offertory prayer and eliminated the cannon of mass. His worship was
