Significance of Theology
Theology frankly means envisioning about God which in implementation
normally means examining the sources of beliefs of Christians which
include the Bible and the creeds and traversing Christianity meeting for
today. Faith delving for understanding and people is the true motive of
Christian theology. Some individuals choose to study theology since they
hope to move from faith to a comprehensive understanding of that faith
while other individuals are considering it since they want to learn what it
is that Christians believe.
Many pastors in the present-day view themselves essentially as
counselors, principals and motivators as yet this frequently comes at the
cost of the foundational reality of the pastorate as a theological office.
According to (Chapell, 2020), the very important character is to be a
theologian arbitrating God to the people and the church requires pastors
who will contextualize biblical wisdom in Christian livelihood to help their
parishioners think theologically about all aspects of their lives, such as
jobs, end-of-life resolutions, political participation, and entertainment
choices. According to (Fowl, 2017), we stay in an indeterminate time
whereby people are interrogating the prerequisite of formal theological
teaching for ministers. In theology, churches and ministry there is a
handbook for Theological Education that assists intellectuals to appreciate
the critical function that theological education plays in providing God-
called ministers for service in our churches and this clear resource
describes both the expansion and motive of theological education as well
as its part in student formation.
A theologically enlightened Christian gets to obtain wisdom to salvation
that is profitable for teaching, rebuke, correct and train in righteousness,
equip the man of God for every good work(2 Tim 3:16-17). Theology is not
only for the motive of gaining salvation but also for solid ethical behavior
in the context of an individual to individual relationship or even the
society at large. A Christian is in a state to understand God’s creation and
take good care of it which also comes in with a good connection with God.
Also, we see that what we do in the body is significant to God. The
spiritual disciplines are significant, but we should not see them as utter
self-denial. A Spirit-led life contains both eschewing and engaging;
whereby we tackle life patterns that motivate both self-control and
endurance (1 Tim 4:7-8). By being in a better position to recognize
theology a Christian is in a position to know who almighty is and what are
His resolutions, intentions and exertion are in the creation he has made.
Theology has a great significance in a Christian life since as they end up
learning about God and it's their conception of all that shapes their
values, dedications, endearment, and their actions since there is no other
area of individual understanding that is more impressive in shaping
Christians brains, hearts, and living. A Christian can understand the
creation and last judgment which is an area that has exasperate full
agreement among thoughtful Christian intellectuals over the centuries
since they all differ in terms of the return of Christ vis-à-vis the tribulation.
It is through the study of theology we as Christians tend to believe that
Christ who was in the flesh of the Mary the virgin and whose life was
sinless and died and rose for our sins, accessioned back to Heaven and
will coming again to get all his followers to himself. Every single
theological area reveals to us that correct and biblical-theological thinking
leads us with instruction not only the truths we are entitled to believe but
presents us insight and directives into living our best lives.
Christians' beliefs, and practices of various ethical points of view
inscriptions and teachings of the bible as well as early theories of ethics
that devote to enlightened moral decision-making. . We note, except God
is the basis for intrinsic human nobility and moral duties, there is no
system of ethics that can ultimately be encouraged. [Robertson McQuilkin,
2017) Theologically informed Christians will have ethical issues such as
caring for the environment as part of God’s creation, human sexuality,
abortion, capital punishment, and euthanasia. According to (Charles,
2019), Faith in Christian ethics does not always add any material content
that is in foreign concept or strange human occurrence.
