The purpose of this Biblical Worldview Paper is to demonstrate how my belief that God is
actively involved with his creation and how this belief affects the way I interact with people
within my vocation.
To begin I will define my vocation as an environment working in the world of Project
Management for a manufacturing companies new product development engineering department.
My suppliers, customers and stakeholders come from a wide spectrum of education, religion,
ethnical background and maturity level. While it seems that over half of these people claim belief
in God, I suspect that less than 25 percent truly believe and walk with God. There are some of
these people that I interact with on a virtual level and only have occasional face to face contact.
There are a small number of employees that I have a personal relationship with outside the
working environment.
Gods Creation
There are multiple references in the Bible that God is the creator. To list a few:

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1:1
•
The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and
does not live in temples made by human hands. Acts 17:24
•
In the beginning, Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the
work of your hands. Hebrews 1:10
•
By faith we understand that the universe was formed by God's command, so that what is
seen was not made out of what was visible. Hebrews 11:3
•
You alone are the Lord. You have made the heavens, the heaven of heavens with all their
host, the earth and all that is on it, The seas and all that is in them. You give life to all of
them and the heavenly host bows down before you. Nehemiah 9:6
The bible tells us that God is everywhere, all powerful and all knowing.
Omnipresent- Heaven is my throne and the earth my footstool. Isaiah 66:1-2
Omnipotent- The almighty is beyond our reach and exalted in power. Job 27:23
Omniscient- Nothing in all creation is hidden from Gods sight. Hebrews 4:13
Spiritual Battle
Apostle Paul tells us in Ephesians 6:12 that we do not wrestle against flesh and blood but against
the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against
the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. The battle is spiritual not physical.
Sometime before the creation of Adam and Eve, one of Gods angels, Lucifer, fell from God.
Lucifer was full of pride and desired to be equal with god. We read in Ezekiel 28:11-19, that
Lucifer was created as a garden cherub and was good, full of wisdom and beauty. He resided in
heaven with God and walked the earth. But God found unrighteous in him and cast him from
heaven. Revelation 12:9 tells us that Satan and his angels were thrown down to the earth. It is
thought that around a third of the angels in heaven came with Satan but there is no scripture to
defend this statement.
So the spiritual battle begins- a fight for our soul. On one side is God, who created us for him to
love us, and us to love him and on the other side is Satan, full of pride and sin, both battling for
our soul. God gives us free will to choose who we will serve and love. However we must make a
conscious decision to love God and serve him. If we do not choose God, we are choosing to
serve Satan.
In his book Unseen Realities: Heaven, Hell, Angels and Demons, RC Sproul reminds us that
Satan is a created being and is always under the sovereign power of God.1 Satan has no control
without first God allowing it. Job 1:12, Luke 21:31-32 Then we must give in to his evil desire.
This is the spiritual battle. Even when we accept Jesus as our Savior and follow Gods Word, we
are subject to Satan’s evil lies. He is the enemy and never quits trying to take our soul from God.
How is God involved with his creation?
From the very beginning of time God has been involved with his creation. In Genesis 2:5 we
know that God has created the Heaven and Earth but there was nothing living on the earth yet
and no man or woman. The out of the dust God creates man. Genesis 2:7 Then God made plants
and trees for the man to tend to. God told man that he could eat of every tree in the garden except
the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Genesis 2:16 Then God saw that it was not good for man
to be alone so using a rib from man, God made woman. Genesis 2:22
This not only shows Gods involvement with man but Gods love for man as God did not want
man to be alone.
Throughout Biblical times God has been involved with mankind by caring for, giving direction,
fighting man’s enemies, destroying sinful people, rebuilding the earth and defeating sin.
God provided manna from Heaven Exodus 16:13-15
God gives wisdom. James 1:5
God grants that your enemies will be defeated. Deuteronomy 28:7
Sinful people destroyed. Genesis 19:27
Great flood. Genesis 7:6
Sin defeated. Corinthians 15:57
Without God we would have been a slave to sin. We have proved to God throughout history that
we can’t be sin free without him. Beginning with the one simple instruction- not to eat from the
tree of knowledge of good and evil, man has failed God.
Today there is evidence that God is involved with his creation all around us.
My best friend who is a gentile loving woman in her middle ages was accused of the death of an
infant. Through investigation it was proven that the child died from a cerebral hemorrhage over a
period of several days. This exonerated my friend. However, Satan had his hand in the situation
and was not about to allow this God loving woman to get by without being attacked. During all
of this there was constant prayer and belief that God will show the truth and my friend will be
found innocent. The situation went to trial and the jury chose to not see the facts of the case and
found my friend guilty. My friend was sent to prison for four years for a crime she did not
commit. At first we did not see Gods hand in this. We could not understand how this could have
happened and how God sat by and allowed it.
Over the next four years in prison, my friend was roomed in a cell with two very bad women.
One was a gang member that was in prison for robbery and beating up a cop and the other was
the wife of a leader in the Arian Brotherhood. She was in prison for driving the car while her
husband shot a police officer.
So our thoughts about how did God allow my friend to go to prison went to God why have you
forsaken us. My friend was in total shock and fear. But God was there the entire time. He had
sent two angels in the place of two very bad women to protect my friend. Over the four years my
friend changed the hearts of these women. Both of them are saved, free from prison and living
productive lives. The prison guards reached out to my friend for spiritual guidance because they
saw God through her. We have to remember that we are the clay and God is the potter. He makes
us for his purpose.
Marine Staff Sgt. Jose Luis Sanchez completed the Boston Marathon Monday April 17th in five
hours and forty six minutes. That is not bad time for someone that lost part of his leg by a
roadside bomb in Afghanistan. 2 Surely God was in this man’s spirit and gave him strength and
determination to finish this race.
Pastor Joel Osteen’s mother, Dodie Osteen, was told on December 10th 1981 that she had cancer
and only had a few weeks left to live. Dodie and her husband went home and got God involved
in the healing. Dodie reminded God of his words through her prayers. And God responded with
complete healing. Thirty six years later she is going strong for the Lord. 3
How I interact to show that God is involved
At some time in my life I woke up and started living responsibly. In my younger years I made a
lot of unwise decisions. These decisions gave me wisdom that keeps me from going down those
roads again.
Jesus is my Lord and Savior; I believe the Bible is the inspired word of God. I believe that Satan
wants to steal my soul from God and will do anything to get it.
This is how I try to live my life and what I want others to see in me. Yes I am still human and I
do live in a fallen world so I am far from living with perfection. I have many faults and try to
deal with them.
I want to be a role model to others so they see how living for God is better than living for self. I
give God the glory for my life, for all the rain and all the sunshine he provides. I make sure that
others see the learnings and value that comes from the rain God gives me.
God saved me from being a total jerk, an alcoholic and living a life of despair. Every time my
self-nature directs me to respond in a worldly way, God reminds me of better choices. I share
these examples with others each opportunity. When people ask me how I avoid stress I let them
know that I do what I can and then give the rest to God.
Often we do not see Gods involvement in our lives until the situation is over and look back. Like
my friend that was wrongfully convicted and sent to prison. At the time it looked like God was
not with her. But looking back we see every step she took God was carrying her.
Summary
God is our creator and gave us his Word in the Bible. Man was created to love God and for God
to love. God gave man everything but held back one instruction to not eat from the tree of
knowledge of good and evil. A fallen Angel named Lucifer deceived man convincing him to eat
the fruit of the forbidden tree. Lucifer is working to take man’s soul from God. This is where the
spiritual battle begins; the battle for our soul. While Satan lies and deceives man, God is ready to
help us; all we need to do is ask God through prayer. Throughout history God has provided and
protected man.
Satan will blind us to Gods involvement and create fear in us in an attempt to keep us away from
God. Christians need to share our experiences with others, both believers and non-believers. We
need to show others where God is involved in our lives and that God does love us and is here for
us.
