Biblical Worldview Essay
Introduction
The belief that is foundational to the Christian faith is the assurance that humankind is
created in the image of God. As an assignment, the objective is to explain the way to interact
with people within a chosen career. This may be difficult, however, with purpose anyone can
strive successfully if they have a true belief. From the beginning of the world, every form of
humanity has had a story to tell their descendants. In today’s society, especially in our modern
culture of melting pot venues, interacting together is a must. Our culture is similar to the culture
Paul discussed in 1 Corinthians 9:19-23. 9:19 states, “Though I am free and belong to no one, I
have made myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible” (NIV). Paul states in 9:23, “I
have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some” (NIV). It
is evident that Paul did not become a chameleon, yet, adapted to his surrounding by being
sensitive to the needs of his audience. This would not mean one would have to change, or lower
their standards, but through love fill the void with Christ’s standards. Towns (2007) states Jesus’
ministry should have been pounded and stopped immediately. However, because of the beliefs
that Jesus spread internally through the region and within the hearts of Roman citizens,
Constantine made Christianity the religion of Rome in 313 AD.
Example One
Genesis 1:27 states, “So God created mankind in His image, in the image of God He
created them; male and female He created them” (NIV). Using the above text, it is important to
point out that God created all mankind in His image. Simply put, we as a creation were made
after the likeness of God. With this in mind, as an elementary educator I get the opportunity to
interact with different types of children. Not only is this my career, but it is also my calling. It
is

a passion I have to help educate as many young minds that God puts in my path. I am not naïve
in my thinking to believe that all people will agree with my testimony. However, if I can relate
to people who are different than I am, it is my true belief that Christ will shine through. Using
that testimony as an example, one should realize that all people are created equal and, therefore,
should be treated as such. Sometimes students come with discipline problems, from all
backgrounds, and as a professional and Christian believer, I have to treat each individual alike.
This relationship needs to be developed immediately in order to establish trust. Those six to
seven hours a day we spend with these children are essential because we are a role model and an
influence to students. As we show godliness in our decisions made in daily activities perhaps the
student will see that our hearts are helping them grow in the Lord. Something we say or do may
help the students make the correct choices in life. We must use our knowledge of creation and
Christlikeness to be an educator of fairness. God’s message, of the creation of humankind in His
image, instructs humankind to treat everyone as God’s creation, which means equal in existence.
Example Two
We all have a job to do, and we must work together as educators to accomplish our goal.
As a teacher, I will develop and maintain relationships with my colleagues by acting in a
professional manner and treating everyone with dignity and respect. Colleagues are essential in
fulfilling the common goal of any career, but especially in the goal of training our future leaders
to be responsible in life. Education is more than the three R’s: Reading, writing, and arithmetic.
Take a basketball analogy as an example. A team may have ten players, and five of the ten get
most of the playing time. The other five players get less playing time, but they all practice like
they will play the entire game. If they practice as if they are only part-time players, then the
team would experience part-time efforts. As colleagues, we are on the same team. What one

instructor does can help to build the rest of the pyramid we are trying to build. So consider the
education career to be like a team. We must all practice to play the entire game. Sometimes we
may only contribute a little and sometimes it may appear we are pulling the whole team by
ourselves. As a team can only operate successfully as a whole, Etzel and Gutierrez (2012) state
we are questioned by coworkers, ourselves, and our children every day. To be that example, we
must spark hope to others by what we have inside of us. Jesus explains it like the vine and the
branches in John 15:1-8 (NIV).
Conclusion
In conclusion, one of the considerations for this assignment is “The purpose of the
assignment is not to discuss how you will evangelize….” Yet, therein lies the problem. Many
believe that a personal relationship with Christ has no place in the work environment. However,
whether true or not, it is the responsibility of all followers of God to live a life after His law, the
Word of God. Understanding that the Word can be spoken through how we live may reach more
individuals than we will ever speak to. So, the statement “faith is the belief” should be the
background for all followers of God to live up to. Certain lyrics to a children’s Bible song,
“Jesus Loves the Little Children,” are “Red and yellow, black and white, all are precious in His
sight” (Root,1864). That song says it all.
