Abstract
This essay examines the frequency, risk factors, and effects of Military Sexual Trauma (MST), a
complex topic. It examines the significance of MST within the military community,
concentrating on its symptoms, inequities, and effects on the physical and mental health of
survivors. The paper also discusses the development of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD),
drug use, suicidal ideation, and the difficulties MST survivors face in their personal and
professional lives. The concluding section focuses on the recovery and healing of MST survivors
by emphasizing the importance of support and care, particularly trauma-informed care practices.
In addition, this paper explores how peer networks can cultivate community support,
empowerment, and resilience. The conclusion summarizes the main findings and emphasizes the
need for ongoing efforts to address MST within the military. The purpose of this paper is to
contribute to the ongoing dialogue on this important topic by comprehending and supporting
MST, fostering a more secure and welcoming environment, and encouraging MST survivors'
healing and recovery.
