Squares, Triangles, Circles, and Hearts:
After reading the assigned chapters in Everyday Bible Study (Chapters 1-5), identify the following items:
Squares: 4 ideas that, in general, square (fit) with your thinking
Triangles: 3 angles you have never considered before
Circles: 2 questions that are circling in your mind
Hearts: 1 idea that you loved.
Once you have identified these 10 items, list and explain them in a thread. Your full thread should
contain at least one quote from Everyday Bible Study to support the thoughts and ideas you are
presenting. Your thread should be at least 400 words in length. For an example of this type of thread,
please see the provided example in the Course Content folder.
Squares:
1. The bible contains God’s plains to save the humans that were lost due to sins that were
done here on earth. We are reading the bible to lead us to the right path according to god’s
plan. Not only that but also, God’s plan is to restore all that was broken and lost because of
Adam and Eve's disobedience through their rebellious act in heaven. According to, Everyday
Bible Study, “God’s story reveals his plan to rescue humanity. The condition of every human
being is one of lostness. We are desperately and hopelessly lost because of the actions of
our first parents—Adam and Eve—and our own willful sin” (Chapter 1).
2. Some people use the bible as a scripted path for their life, they depend on the bible to
give them clear instructions on everything in their life, however, this is not all true. The bible
does not tell us about the path that humans need to follow but it’s primarily about the path
that God chose to restore humanity.
3. The revelation consists of the prediction of future events and also visions about the end
of the world. There are no details about the specific timings of these future events but there
are agreement and beliefs that it will happen.
4. Prophets are messengers of God, they tend to spread God’s message to humanity.
These messages are reminders to humanity to remind them about their promise to God.
Triangles:
1. God continually loves us, however, this love is not because humans keep their promises
to God nor because of the human belief that God will restore the fractured relationship
between us but because of the perfect performance of Jesus Christ.
2. Sports have different kind of genres (swimming, football, skydiving, etc) and different
rules and equipment for each type of sport in order to succeed in it. This is the same as the
bible, it has different types of genres, just like sports, but these different genres and versus
have the same idea in common, just like sports that have things in common but categorized
differently.
3. Sins need to be redeemed and this redemption is accomplished through the sacrificial
death of Jesus Christ. However, God willingly pays the price to redeem us and sets us free
from our sin.
Circles:
1. How can I determine the crucial differences between the New Testament and The Old
Testament?
2. How Christ’s miracles determine Christ's identity and not his ability?
Hearts:
1. Psalms are a collection of religious verses and hymns. The bible literature is God’s words
to us however Psalms written to God. Psalms are written as poetry, thus, it engages
emotions that can affect an individual’s heart and mind.
