WORLDVIEW RESEARCH PAPER
A person’s worldview is based upon many different factors. A general definition would be the
way a person views the world based on his, or her pass, and present experiences. If a person
grew up in a household without a father, in a poverty-stricken area of Southside Chicago for
example, they would have a different worldview from someone that grew up in a two-parent
home in the suburbs of Hollywood California. Rae claims that, “For some time, even though the
society at large had rejected the Christian worldview more generally, its moral consensus held
considerable influence on the moral views people held and the way they talked about morality,”1
Therefore, a person worldview could be based on how they form moral opinions as it pertains to
their spiritual up bringing as well.
Although, the world has a way of serving a person up with a healthy dose of trials,
tribulation’s and pains that can sometimes alter a person’s worldview. Finally a person’s world
view has a lot to do with the way they were raised and what they were to believe “Our
worldview has a profound impact on how we decide what is real versus unreal, what is right
versus wrong, and what is important versus unimportant. It shapes our culture and expresses
itself in all institutions including the arts, religion, education, media, and business. Modernism,
and increasingly post-modernism is the dominant worldview of our culture.”2 Anderson asserts
that, “Every religion reflects a worldview and every secular ideology reflects a worldview.”3

The Question of Origin
The Bible teaches us that, “the LORD God formed man from the dust of the ground and
breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living being,” (Genesis 2:7, NIV).
God created mankind in his own image. He formed us into his own likeness. The Bible also
states, “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God
prepared in advance for us to do,” (Ephesians 2:10). God did not make a mistake. God loves
mankind and he shows it by sending a savior to the world to redeem them. This is how life begin,
not revolution or some other scientific explanation. God made mankind so that he could reveal
himself to them and receive the praises honor and glory for all that he has done. Although
authors Kim, McCalman and fisher claim that, “while we all have different values, the selection
ability to recognize and modify our values reflects our God-given intellect. Therefore, from a
Christian worldview, all values ultimately stem from God.”3
The Question of Identity
Psalms 8:5 says,” you have made them a little lower than the angels and crowned them with
glory and honor. To be human means that God thought so much of man that he created him in his
own likeness, he knew that they would fall and sent a savior to redeem them. The Bible says he
breathed into his nostrils the breath of life. This is what separates man from animals. Animals
may appear to show human reactions, and responses but its strictly instinct. Mankind Is the only

creation that has a soul. Man has a piece of something Godly that is everlasting and eternal.
Mankind was kicked out of the garden in the fall and an angel was placed at the gate to keep him
from getting back to the tree of life that way. But glory be to God he provided mankind another
way to get back to the garden and that is through the savior, Christ Jesus.
The Question of Meaning/Purpose
God has been receiving praises throughout all eternity. As a matter of fact Isaiah said, “above
him stood seraphim, each having six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two
they covered their feet, and with two they were flying and they called out to one another: Holy,
holy, holy is the LORD of Hosts; His glory fills all the Earth,” (Isaiah 6:2-3). This praises go on
day and night without ceasing. But God wanted to create a being that would praise him because
they chose to. Mankind can choose to praise God or reject God, its called freewill. Mankind exist
because God wants to reveal himself to man. He wants to be LORD over mans life. He wants to
fellowship with man like he did in the garden with Adam before the fall. (Genesis 3:8). Mankind
exist to subdue the earth, replenish it and give praise to God.
The Question of Morality
You can catch a baby with his hands full of chocolate, in the kitchen, with the top off the
cookie jar and ask them, “did you steal a cookie” and they will lie to your face, without ever
being taught how to lie. Humans have a propensity to sin, it just their nature. In a secular setting
what’s right, and what’s wrong may be up for interpretation. The Bible teaches that, “whatever
you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the
Father through him,” (Colossians 3:17). But Christians live by a Biblical mandate. They adopt
the values of Christ and live and act as he did when he walked the earth. This is how the
Christian should live, like Christ. We should display Christ like characteristics in our everyday

life. People should be able to tell that there is something different about a Christian. Every
Christian should ask themselves, “if I was on trial charged with being a Christian would I be
found guilty or innocent. Colossians also states that, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your
heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters,” (Colossians 3:23).
The Question of Destiny Christ
The Bible says, just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment,”
(Hebrews 9:27). After the Christian dies his soul or his very essence will lay in the lap of God,
thus the scripture to be absent from the body is to be present with the LORD, (II Corinthians 5:6-
8). We will be in a deep sleep until the trumpet has been sounded. The Bible says that the dead in
Christ shall rise first and those that are alive shall be caught up to meet with him in the clouds.
Then we will forever be with the LORD. The Bibles say when he returns, he reward will already
be with him-glorified bodies incorruptible and eternal. Heaven will then descend like a bride
adorned for her husband. The beautiful city of God will be seen by all. The Bible says that the
streets are paved with gold. Each gate in the city is made of one perfect pearl. There is a river of
crystals flowing from the throne room of God and on each side of that river there are trees that
produce fruit that is good for the healing of the nations. I have a grandmother over there. I have
some friends, and love ones over there. And one of these days I’ll see them, but more importantly
I’ll see the risen savior, Jesus Christ our LORD.
