Define the word Worldview?
1Worldview is the overall perspective of which one sees and interprets the world. There are many
types of worldviews many people develop from parents, societies, social affiliations, historical
coherencies and from personal experiences. To me a worldview is made up of my beliefs, values,
who or what I follow (GOD) do I would say I have a Christian Worldview or Biblical
Worldview. A Worldview is a Commitment most of all.
Biblical Worldview?
2 A Biblical Worldview (or Christian Worldview) is a Worldview based on God’s unchanging
word. God is the creator of All things and everything in earth and heaven, He is truth, all-
powerful, all-knowing, and unchanging. The Bible contains words of God and He is truth. (John
17:17) “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.” (2 Timothy 3:16) “All Scripture is
given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for
instruction in righteousness.”
Inspiration meaning God “breathed it out.” The Holy Spirit directed and guides humans to
preserve and write down His Scriptures. A Biblical Worldview is not just theoretical, but it
changes the way we respond to major events.
When telling someone or asking about someone's Worldview there is always five questions you
should ask. The first one being The Question of Origin, the second being Identity, the third is
Meaning or Our Purpose, the fourth is Morality and the fifth is Destiny.

Five Biblical Worldview Questions?
1. Origin- Life began by God (Genesis 1:1) “In the Beginning God created the heavens and
the earth.” The Bible is the word of God and is truth. God is the creator of the universe
and all things in it. Through creation God revealed His divine nature to humankind.
(Isaiah 45:18) “For thus says the Lord, who created the Heavens (He is God!), 3who
formed the earth and made it (He established it, He did not create it empty, he formed it
to be inhabited!) “I am the Lord, and there is no other!” God breathed life into man thus
we were created.
2. Identity- God is the Creator. God created us in His image and likeness. (Genesis 1:27)
“So God created mankind in His own image, in the image of God He created them, male and
female He created them.” Which means we possess rationality, morality, spirituality, personality,
and ability to relate God and other humans. (Psalm 100:3) “Know that the Lord, He is God! It is
He who made us, and we are His; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.” 4Our Identity
is Children of God, disciples of Jesus, and heir to God’s promise.
3. Meaning/Purpose- Why are we here? We are to Love God with everything. We are to
choose to follow Jesus Christ. We are to be a good influence for everyone in the world, love, and
value each other. God made people to rule over earth, not to damage or exploit it, but to bring it
under control and help it flourish. (John 3:16) “For God so loved the world, that He gave His
only son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” We are to respect
God and fear him and keep and follow in his commandments for life. (Matthew 6:33) “But seek
first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” We
are to make God known to everyone. (Revelations 4:11) Love God and put Him first.
4. Morality- God's commands are the rules by which we are to abide. Morality is knowing
right from wrong. Jesus Christ is the standard meaning of right from wrong. (John 14:6) “Jesus
answered, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the father except through me.”
God’s moral nature is absolute and unchanging. Morality was established by God. (Matthew

7:13) “Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the road is easy that leads to
destruction, and there are many who take it.” Love God, Love Others and Love Ourselves.
5. Destiny- Where am I going? The world is linear and headed somewhere and it is God’s
story. 5While our actions and decisions are morally significant, the shape of history is
predetermined by God. Destiny relates to death and afterlife.6 (Isaiah 46:10) “I declare the end
from the beginning, and from long ago what is not yet done, saying my plan will take place, and
I will do all my will.” Jesus will return to judge the living and dead by their words and their
deeds. 7We are to follow God's rules and love Him and to be with Him eternally, and who live in
sin, and do not believe of God's purpose are destined to Hell or the second death. (Revelations
21:8)
How might a Biblical Worldview influence the way you think about and treat a person who
does not hold your beliefs?
I would have to say that goes along with morality, being created from God's likeness we
have free will but we have that knowing of right from wrong. So, a Biblical Worldview gives me
love for others, understanding, compassion, and patience. I will listen, care for, and describe
truth with the sense of respect.
How might a biblical worldview influence the way I would act toward a family member
who is hard to get along with and is unliked?
Well Jesus provides moral guidance of goodness and faith. (Romans 13:8-10) we are to
love one another. I would encourage them to follow God and his commandments. I would ask
how I can help them get on the right path in life, listen to their problems and give advice, but if
none of those things will help, I would keep trying but not let them influence my life.
