There can be many ways that the gospel is perceived in today's culture. The main way is through
all the several types of religion being practiced. With the use of religion people try to do well and
in return their belief is that there will be rewards given to them from God. In Ephesians 2:9 Paul
states ¨ the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. ¨ So we see our salvation is not
based upon works but having faith in Jesus Christ. Many people have been taught good works
through God is how they will earn salvation, thus most of the world perceives the gospel like this
today.
People may reject the gospel today for moral reasons such as having witnessed or experienced
too much suffering and oppression, then wondering why it all happened when God could have
prevented it all. Others may reject the gospel message because of past and modern forms of
slavery God has permitted. Today´s society has an overwhelming amount of people who have
non-Christian beliefs that lead them to reject the Christian gospel, sometimes Christian gospel is
viewed as limiting and out of touch from society. A percentage of society also sees Christian
gospel as being forced on them.
Some people just simply overthink Christian gospel by trying to gain an understanding of the
gospel through other individual's concepts of Christian gospel, therefore they cannot gain their
own understanding of the gospel. Many people in today´s society have lost interest in the

Christian gospel due to the lack of physical evidence of God´s existence, those people believe
that since there is no direct scientific or physical proof than there is no truth, and the Christian
gospel must be none other than a myth. People find themselves feeling as if they must choose
between science and the belief of the Christian gospel, to those people there is no in between you
must believe in one or the other. People have difficulty trying to believe what cannot be
measured or observed with their five senses. Belief in the Christian gospel may be perceived as ¨
a leap of blind faith. ¨
1Peter 3:15 ¨ but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy always being prepared to make a
defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you. Yet do it with gentleness
and respect. ¨ (1 Peter 133A14-16 ESV - - bible gateway, n.d) Watch every approach to spread
the Christian gospel as to not be overbearing, forceful or unkind. Approach every attempt at
spreading Christian gospel with respect and gentleness as stated in the passage from the bible
above. Be sure you carry your message in love, keeping in mind that no two individuals will
interpret the message the same. It is always effective to develop relationships with individuals
when trying to communicate with them. Through building a relationship you build trust, which is
key when trying to present innovative ideas to people. Christians can address many objections
they face with reasoned arguments and presentation of historical and scientific facts where
possible. Most vital in your approach to spreading the Christian gospel is letting your love for
Christ be present through your actions and the way in which you address objections and present
the gospel and overall, Christian faith. John 13:34-35 ¨ a new commandment I give unto you,
that ye love another as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men
know that ye are my disciples if ye have loved one another. ¨
