It was refreshing to read your discussion related to Wolfe's, Grand Narrative. c
You created a visual framework with your comparison of that and God's intent
for creation as it relates to problems in the work environment. I agree that the
decisions that we make as Christians in a secular work environment have to be
addressed. Even now as I think about it, walking in the garden of Eden after
the fall seems to be the beginning template for worldly alignment in the
workplace (from the beginning of creation until now).
In the beginning, Adam and Eve were in worship with the Father daily in the
garden and walked free from sin. Adam and Eve made the direction to walk
opposite creation and follow the serpent's subtle sin choice. However, Father
desires his creation to follow His voice and not the voice of a stranger (MEV,
Gen. 3: 11).
Father told Eve as a result of sin she would have pain in childbirth (MEV, Gen
3: 16). Additionally, Father told Adam, he would toil to bring forth a harvest
(MEV, Gen 3:17). However, Father later displayed to Cain and Abel the difference
between the consequence of the fall (world view) and making the choice to follow
the voice of creation in the workplace environment.
The result is that Cain and Abel were employees for a sovereign employer. The
bible states that both brought back an offering from the workplace environment. c
However, Cain brought an offering as an afterthought, while Abel brought his
offering first (MEV, 4: 3 - 6). As a result Abel received a harvest of favor from the
Father.
We as individuals of faith have to be able to apply these concepts as both
employees and employers. We have to bring our work as though we are
bringing it forth as an offering for the Father. Whatever discipline we occuppy,
we have to apply creation faith as we follow Father's voice (MEV, John 10: 27 )
